About Georgia Beta

Phi Psi's are gentlemen, who strive daily to make our community a better place by volunteering their time and effort with various activities. From the pledges to the senior members, we guide and assist each other in order to maintain a close-knit Brotherhood based on trust, loyalty, and development of leadership skills. This strong Brotherhood allows us to form a bond that last a lifetime, no matter what one's background may be.

The Georgia Beta Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi is an ever expanding group. With this expansion, comes the opportunity for many great leadership positions. Our brothers hold key positions in the Housing Department, the Interfraternity Council (IFC), honor societies, and other various city organizations. These positions provide Phi Kappa Psi with many ways to get involved. This year, the chapter is hosting the first Annual Phi Psi Clothing Drive in order to collect clothes for a local charity.

We accept men of character who are interested in contributing to a strong sense of Brotherhood. Our mission is to experience life through "the great joy of serving others" while becoming a well-rounded gentleman and scholar. We are always striving to increase the Chapter's academic, social, and athletic standing on campus by successfully recruiting new members, and upholding the ritual of the fraternity.

A Letter From Our President

Phi Kappa Psi is a brotherhood of honorable men, who strive earnestly throughout their lives for intellectual, spiritual, and moral excellence. At Georgia Beta, we also strive to meet these high ideals. Our brothers may come from different backgrounds and have different personalities; however, we all share the common interest in the brotherhood of Phi Kappa Psi. Our location at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia opens up a multitude of opportunities for our brothers. Such opportunities include serving Georgia Tech and our Atlanta community through service and enhancing our own talents through interaction with a diverse group of brothers.

Georgia Beta is a very active fraternally. Socially, we hold parties and have annual formals and semi-formals both in Atlanta and in other nearby locations such as Savannah or Charleston. Our dedication to service is also evident in our contributions of time and money to our annual clothing drive, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Tech Beautification Day, and other service projects in and around the Atlanta area. On a national level, Georgia Beta actively participates in leadership programs such as FELA (Fraternity Educator''s Leadership Academy) and PLA (President''s Leadership Academy) in Indianapolis as well as the Woodrow Wilson Leadership Academy (location differs year to year) and the American Leadership Academy in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We also make available both local and national scholarships to all brothers of the fraternity.

We continue to recruit new members who strive to meet the ideas aforementioned. As a result, our Spring 2006 recruitment class had the highest grade point average among all fraternity recruitment classes during that semester. However, to believe that Phi Kappa Psi is only about succeeding in the classroom would be a grave misunderstanding of the goals of Georgia Beta and the fraternity at large. Phi Kappa Psi seeks to take young college men and transform them into gentlemanly leaders. Everyone is given certain talents, strengths, and weaknesses. At Phi Psi, we help our brothers to master their talents and strengths, improve on their weaknesses, and prepare for the challenges that will come after the college years. In addition, the connections you will make in your Phi Psi experiences will last a lifetime; the brotherhood will always be available for your needs.

In 2007, Psi Psi will continue to expand its horizons through extended service and education of our surrounding environment. We will continue to seek the highest gentlemanly ideals as we enjoy another exciting year at Georgia Tech.
